Privacy Policy

EloNotes is a website and early-stage adult chess training service operated by Please Computer. This policy explains what information we collect through the EloNotes website, why we collect it, and how learner waitlist and future reviewer interest information is handled.

Information we collect

When you submit the learner waitlist form, we collect the information you choose to provide: name, email address, chess level or rating, preferred chess platform, optional plan interest, improvement goal or notes, and submission date and time.

EloNotes Core stores learner waitlist submissions as private Learner Lead records in WordPress. The current form does not intentionally store IP address, user agent, or referrer for learner leads.

When you submit the reviewer interest form, we collect the information you choose to provide: name, email address, reviewer background, channel, audience, chess profile information, message or notes, and submission date and time.

EloNotes Core stores reviewer interest submissions as private Reviewer Lead records in WordPress. The underlying storage key may still use the historical creator lead post type for compatibility, but the current purpose is future reviewer interest.

If analytics, Search Console, spam protection, embedded media, or other WordPress plugins are added, those services may collect additional technical information such as page visits, browser/device details, referral sources, cookies, or interaction events. This policy should be kept current as services change.

How we use information

We use learner waitlist information to understand interest in EloNotes plans, invite appropriate adult learners into early testing, follow up about rating range, platform, improvement goals, and plan fit, and improve website messaging and launch operations.

We use reviewer interest information to understand possible future coach, creator, titled-player, and GM review capacity, follow up when reviewer workflow and fulfillment needs are ready to test, and improve the future human annotation layer.

We do not sell learner waitlist or reviewer interest information.

Email notifications

When someone submits the learner waitlist or reviewer interest form, EloNotes emails the submission details to the notification recipients configured in EloNotes > Settings in WordPress. These recipients are intended to be internal Please Computer / EloNotes contacts only.

Data retention

For the launch period, learner and reviewer leads are retained manually so we can follow up with interested people and understand the sales cycle. Retained leads should be reviewed at least every 90 days.

The EloNotes Core plugin includes a lead retention months setting. When set to 0, retention is manual. When set to a positive number, the plugin may delete private lead records older than that number of months through a scheduled WordPress cleanup task.

Export and deletion requests

You can request a copy or deletion of learner waitlist or reviewer interest information associated with your email address. Site administrators can process these requests using WordPress privacy tools: Tools > Export Personal Data and Tools > Erase Personal Data.

The EloNotes Core plugin registers lead exporter and eraser callbacks so requests can be searched by submitted email address.

Third-party services

EloNotes may use WordPress, DreamHost, Cloudflare, GitHub, Google Search Console, analytics tools, email systems, and SEO plugins to operate and improve the website.
